MANAGING STRESS
 

Managing Stress with The Stress Reduction ProgramSince 1979, more than 17,000 individuals throughout North America have benefited from an 8-week program created by Jon Kabat-Zinn, Ph.D., at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. Featured in an hour-long segment of Bill Moyers' PBS special, Healing and the Mind, it is designed to teach individuals how to reduce stress, relax and enhance all aspects of their lives. This Stress Reduction course is now being offered in Arizona by the Scottsdale Institute for Health and Medicine. (To meet organizational needs, its time frame can be customized.)

The Stress Reduction Program helps reduce mental, emotional, and physical stress to attain a superior level of well-being and success. This enhances your capacity to experience life more fully, with energy, enthusiasm and self-esteem. These changes are rooted in an approach called "mindfulness". A four year follow-up study of participants in a mindfulness stress reduction program published in The Clinical Journal of Pain reported a "large and significant overall improvement ... physically and psychologically"
